Hansruedi Heeb will present his views on the state and future of phone platforms. There will also be a panel discussion on the topic, as well as all things mobile.

Hansruedi Heeb is founder and CEO of FonApp, a startup located in Zurich and Singapore which develops a smart client for mobile phones.
Before FonApp, Hansruedi Heeb founded Esmertec in 1999 and served as its CEO from the beginning to 2002. In this time he secured a total of 23 M CHF in venture funding from three investors to enable the company to develop its Java virtual machine product into a mature offering for the mobile handset market. Under his leadership the company reached a stage of strong revenue growth culminating in several multi-million dollar contracts. Between August 2002 and Jan 2004, Mr. Heeb served as Esmertec’s Chairman of the Board and Chief Technology Officer. Esmertec (now Myriad Group) is listed on the Swiss stock market since Sep 2005 and trades as MYRN.
Prior to Esmertec, Hansruedi Heeb was Vice President of Research and Development at Diagonal Systems, an Electronic Design Automation company in Switzerland. Before that he spent 6 years at IBM’s central Research facility in Yorktown Heights, New York.
Mr. Heeb holds an M. S. in Physics and a Ph. D. in Technical Sciences from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). He lives with his family in Zurich, Switzerland.
