Day one Ad-Hoc sessions

1:30 - 5:00PM on Saturday, December 12 2009 in Break out rooms

Similar to a BarCamp, conference attendees will be given the opportunity to plan the schedule for the rest of the day based on topics of interest to them, and the people actually in attendance. Breakout rooms will be available.

I have a few sessions/topics I want to do: Shanzhai VS Qi Inside http://rejon.org/wiki/IDEA_20091024_Shanzhai_VS_Qi_Inside_Presentation

Status.Net and open source microblogging.

And, scaling Creative Commons.

If Singapore were to clone Y Combinator / Techstars / Seedcamp, what would it look like? Meng and Hugh have been noodling over some ideas and are keen to hear your take.

If you have experience with Web 2.0 startups, or have been following Paul Graham's and other people's efforts, join us ...

If you haven't, catch up at http://blog.jedchristiansen.com/2009/09/21/copying-y-combinator-why-and-how

Last year I broke up with my engineer life and decided to travel around the world taking pictures. My two passions together.

For the last seven months I have been travelling through Russia, Mongolia, Tibet, Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Tailand and Malaysia. During all this time I have been updating my website almost daily with pictures and histories from all around.

The blog itself has won several awards this year (best travel blog and best expat blog in spanish blog competitions) and a new proyect of translating it into english is being prepared.

I would like to talke for about 5 minutes and would love to listen to your ideas and opinions on how to earn some money with it and even create a book with it.

Thanks!

John Fernandes, Microsoft Singapore DPE Director, (not the dude in the picture mind you), will talk about what types of partnerships to expect with Microsoft.

His area of focus spans from students, startups, ISVs/web professionals, and Microsoft partners. For startups, he runs the Microsoft BizSpark program for about a year now in Singapore.

He will talk about his experiences in Silicon Valley, how Microsoft BizSpark came about, how it is helping startups all over the world (with good examples from Singapore), and what's next for BizSpark.
